EUTOPIA Cotutelle call (funded PhDs in all disciplines) (DEADLINE 9 MAY 2023)

Following on from the success to the Erasmus+ pilot program in 2020 and to subsequent bids (EUTOPIATRAIN, EUTOPIA-Science and Innovation Fellowships), the partner universities have decided to open the PhD co-tutelle program again this year. This call description details the program’s functioning, funding scheme and practical modalities. The EUTOPIA PhD co-tutelle program supports high-quality PhD projects in all research areas cosupervised by academics of the EUTOPIA member universities. It offers PhD fellowships for 3 to 4 years, depending on the length of doctoral studies in the partner universities. It is expected to lead to highquality research projects with global impact, providing exciting research opportunities for PhD or doctoral candidates.       Prof.  Frederik Dhondt  and dr.  Stefano Cattelan  convened a symposium on  Small Powers and Maritime Neutrality. Theory and Practice of the Law of Nations ( 1650-1800)  at the Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre (Cité internationale universitaire de Paris), in the framework of dr. Cattelan's Carlsberg Fondet Internationalisation Grant (2022-2023).  We warmly thank all participants for their papers, as well as the  Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre , the  Carlsberg Fondet  and the Research Group CORE for their support.  The result of the meeting will be submitted as an edited volume to an international publisher. James Monroe by Samuel Morse (Source: Wikimedia Commons ) Frankfurt-am-Main, 1 and 2 December 2023 Organized by Justus-Liebig Universität Giessen and the TRACE Research Center “Transformations of Political Violence”,  an inter­disciplinary research network of five Hessian research Institutions: The Peace Research In­stitute Frankfurt (PRIF), the Goethe University Frankfurt, the Justus Liebig University Giessen, the Philipps University Marburg and the Technical University of Darmstadt. Additional support provided by the Asser Institute for International and Development Studies, The Hague, and the Peace Research Institute, Frankfurt. Call for Papers:   December 2 nd , 2023, will mark the bicentenary of President James Monroe’s famous State of the Union to the U.S. Congress. Out of the 6500 words of his full address, two sentences are remembered as the Monroe Doctrine: « no future colonization by any European power » in the American continents and « not to interfere in the internal concer
